ESCAN Membership

Non-members should consider joining the society. Membership is inexpensive and among the many benefits, Members receive discounts on the meeting registration.

Two-year ESCAN membership fee:

Acknowledgement of registration and receipt of fees will be sent soon after the registration form and full payment are received. Upon request, a letter of invitation will be sent.

Online payment

Online payment is available with VISA, VISA Electron, V-Pay, MasterCard, Maestro and JCB cards only. Upon finishing your registration you will be redirected to the secured online payment site of K&H Bank Zrt. AMEX cards: Payment with AMEX card is only possible in a traditional mail order way. In this case please return the Credit Card Authorization Form with your card details.


Taxable invoice will be issued on all incoming payments. Invoices will be prepared for the customer name indicated on the registration form. Please note that the Congress Secretariat will not modify the customer name on issued invoices so please take care of the right billing address when you fill in the registration form.

Catering costs

Registration fees include catering (welcome reception and coffee breaks). In line with tax regulations the prices of these catering services should be displayed on the invice separately. Therefore the registration fees will be billed on invoices as two separate items: registration fees and catering costs included on the registration fee.

Cancellation policy

All cancellations should be sent in written form to the Congress Secretariat.

  • Cancellations will be fully refunded less € 15 administration fee till July 1, 2020.
  • If cancellation arrives before 20 April 2021 full refund less EUR 100 (as handling fee) of the registration fee will be applied.
  • No refund is available after this date, though substitution in person will be accepted.

No show up cases

The organizers take efforts to run a successfull conference. Based on the list of registrants and order status conference services will be provided in sufficient numbers. Please take into consideration that after deadlines some conference materials and meals or hotel rooms cannot be cancelled or resold and therefore no refund is available. However substitution in person is always acceptable.


The organizers cannot be held responsible for any personal injury, loss, damage, accident to private property, or additional expenses incurred as a result of delays or changes in air, rail, sea, road or other services, strikes, sickness, weather, war, sports and other causes. Psychophysiological modelling workshop

The workshop is aimed at newcomers to the method and at users who want to deepen their theoretical knowledge. We will focus on fostering an intuitive understanding and working with practical examples. The workshop will be divided into a theoretical overview and training with the software. Training will be adapted to participant's previous exposure to PsPM, SPM or Matlab. Participants are welcome to bring along specific questions on PsPM, or experiments that they are planning to analyse with PsPM.

Satellite Submission

The ESCAN 2021 organizing committee invites proposal for Satellite Events (workshops). Satellite Events are independent of but related to the ESCAN 2021, with the purpose of providing an interactive and focused platform for presenting and discussing new and emerging ideas of cognitive, affective and social neuroscience. If you wish to propose a Satellite Event, please fill out the below form.

Symposium Submission

For symposium on a given theme, the organizing author should pre-arrange for the different speakers (of different affiliations, as symposia are meant to bring different groups/perspectives to the same forum) and should conduct the full submission.

Symposium organizers will be expected to moderate their sessions during the conference.

Individual oral/poster submission

Individual submissions should be submitted by the presenting author, through the online abstract submission form. Click on below link to apply for a submission password, which will be sent to you in email. Add abstract topic, requested presentation type, abstract title, authors name and affiliation in the online form.

Oral presentations will be scheduled with 15 minutes.

Organizers may request you to change your preferred presentation type (oral or poster).

Those who already booked accommodation for ESCAN 2020, please kindly cancel your booking immediately at the hotel.

Budapest is a budget friendly destination, but try to book as early as possible for the best deals. Please note that Budapest is one of the host cities of the UEFA EURO 2020 postponed to 2021 at the same dates, so hotel prices will increase closer to date of the tournament. Please keep monitoring our website, in the next couple of months we will be updating this page to inform you about the new hotel allotments.
